GULMARG (2650M, 55KM)

Gulmarg Meaning "the Meadow of flowers" remained favorite hill resorts of the romantic Emperor Jahangir and his beautiful wife Nor Jehan. It was also patronized and developed by the British who set up a golf course here in 1904 which is the highest green golf course in the world. Gulmarg's spellbinding beauty with its attractive meadow of flowers allows one to understand why Kashmir is called "paradise on Earth". It's virgin Scenery attracted the legendry couple king yosuf Shah Chak and the renowned Poetess Habba Khatoon. Apart from Golf, Gulmarg boasts of Asia's highest gondola cable car. The gondola is the two stage ropeway that carries close to 700 people per hour to and fro from kongdoori which falls in the vicinity of 14000 Feet Affrawat Peak. With its beauty and Proximity to Srinagar Gulmarg has always remained a major attraction for foreign and domestic tourists.

Gulmarg offers lot of option for leisure and adventure like skiing, snow boarding and gondola ski lift from December to March / April. • KHILANMARG

  6 km from Gulmarg an uphill journey through beautiful pine forests get rewarded with a magnificent view and the presence of snow even during late summer. It can also be reached by taking a pony ride or cable car.



• ALPATHAR LAKE

  A Magnificent lake at an altitude of 3850 mtrs and 13 km from Gulmarg via Khalinmarg is a rare experience. One has to reach the top of Alpather Mountains and then descend to reach the lake having a huge glacier in it.
